Destinations

Prague (CZ)
1: Eurostar to Paris or Brussels. Overnight stop, then onward connections to Prague
2: Fly to Prague, Dresden or Berlin

Dečin (CZ)
1: Eurostar to Paris or Brussels. Overnight stop, then onward connections to Prague and local service to Dečin
2: Fly to Prague, Dresden or Berlin, then by local train to Dečin

Dessau, Meissen and Dresden (DE) – finish points for the Elbe cycle path tours – by train to Berlin, Dresden or Prague airports.

By Rail:
  • From London, Prague can be reached in 2 days with an overnight stopover in Brussels, Cologne or Berlin.  Alternatively, a sleeper service runs between Zurich and Prague and a new sleeper service opened in Dec 2022 from Basel or Karlsruhe via Dresden to Prague.
  • The excellent and inexpensive rail network in the area is the best option for all transfers between Berlin, Dessau, Meissen, Dresden, Dečin and Prague as required.  Online advance ticket purchases can be made with either German or Czech railways (see Rail contacts below).
 By Air:
  • Berlin Brandenburg (BER)
    Brand new airport near Schönefeld to the South-East of the capital and replacement for the former Tegel (TXL) and Schönefeld (SXF) airports which closed in October 2020. Served by very fast and frequent trains and buses to city centre and main station.
    British Airways – flying from London Heathrow
    BA Cityflyer – flying from London City
    easyjet – flying from Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London Gatwick, London Luton and Manchester.
    Ryanair – flying from East Midlands, Edinburgh, London Stansted and Manchester.
  • Dresden (DRS)
    (Very fast frequent shuttle train to city centre and main railway stations)
    Ryanair – flying from London Stansted (3 days per week).
  • Prague (PRG) (Frequent airport shuttle bus connects to excellent, cheap Metro or Tram services for city centre, or Airport Express coach runs to the main railway station)
    British Airways – flying from London Heathrow.
    easyjet – flying from Bristol, Edinburgh, London Gatwick, London Luton and Manchester.
    Eurowings – flying from Birmingham.
    jet2 – flying from Birmingham,  Glasgow, Leeds/Bradford, Manchester and Newcastle.
    Ryanair – flying from Edinburgh, London Stansted and Manchester.
By Car:

Use Ferry or Tunnel. Distances from Calais: Prague 683 miles (toll charge applies to Czech motorways); Dresden 590 miles.
Long term parking can usually be arranged (we can advise likely charges).
