About our historic railway accommodation in Mid-Suffolk
Our Suffolk railway holidays cycle tours feature a range of renovated railway carriages positioned in their own ‘siding’ in a rural setting near Eye.
The 1 acre garden site includes 7 self-catering accommodation units and is suitable for couples and families. Facilities include a play area for under 10s, access to the owner’s nearby private pool and leisure facilities by arrangement. The site has free wi-fi and off-road parking.
Each carriage has its own character and includes items expected on a self-catering break. Please see tour details for what’s included.

Railway Carriage I
Sleeps : Up to 2 adults and 2 children in 1 double bed and 2 small bunk beds.
Your accommodation: Includes shower room/ WC and kitchenette . TV with freeview and radio. Heating.
Railway Carriage II
Sleeps : Up to 6 adults in 1 double bedroom, 1 twin room with full-sized bunk beds and a sofa bed in the open-plan sitting/ diner.
Your accommodation: Includes shower room / WC and open plan kitchen with oven, microwave, fridge. Open plan but separate sitting and dining areas, furnished with comfortable sofa(-bed) and chairs. TV/DVD and radio. Heating.
Italian Carriage
Used in the last war by Italian prisoners of war working on the land nearby, this historic carriage has now been comfortably converted.
Sleeping four in two bedrooms, it has a shower room/loo and a kitchen with a small sitting area. It’s a pretty little carriage, compact but elegant and fully equipped for holiday use. One small step into the carriage,

Guard’s Van
Sleeps : Up to 4 adults in 2 bedrooms – 1 double and 1 twin.

Wilby Halt
Wilby Halt is a small station building – a copy of an original from the nearby historic light railway route, complete with an original box wagon and carriage.
The 3 units are linked by a platform.
Sleeps : Up to 5 people – Box Wagon (1 double bedroom) sleeps 2 adults; Wilby Halt ‘station’ building sleeps up to 3 in 2 bunk beds and 1 single. These two units are linked and share a shower room / WC.
Your accommodation: Box Wagon, ‘station’ building bedrooms linked with shared shower room/ WC. Private platform to Wilby Halt Rail Carriage which is the sitting area (includes double sofa-bed) and kitchen with dining area. Heating.
